The completion ceremony of the large silicon wafer project of Hangzhou Semiconductor wafer Co.,Ltd.(FTHW) was held in FTHW in Qiantang New District, Hangzhou on September 21, 2019. This move marks the construction of FTHW for one year and eight months, and the formal mass production of 8-inch large silicon wafers has been completed, and the 12 inch large silicon wafer production line has entered the stage of commissioning and trial production.
It marks the successful opening of the first large-scale semiconductor wafer production plant with the largest scale, the most mature technology and independent core technology in China. It also lays the foundation for the realization of the mass production of 350000 8-inch semiconductor wafer and 12 inch wafer in the next year. As we all know, the domestic supply of large-scale silicon wafers, especially 12 inch semiconductor wafers, is controlled by foreign enterprises, and the market is highly monopolized.
The completion and operation of the large wafer project of FTHW will change the current situation that the domestic large wafer is totally dependent on foreign countries, and effectively fill the short board of the domestic large wafer supply industry.
In the next few months, FTHW will complete the equipment installation and debugging, process debugging, quality certification and other processes of the 12 inch production line, and produce a high-quality 12 inch semiconductor wafer by the end of this year. At the beginning of next year, it will enter into mass production. After the 12 inch semiconductor wafer production line is put into production, the monthly production capacity will reach 30000 pieces, and the expansion of 200000 pieces production line will be started in due time, which will greatly alleviate the situation of insufficient supply of large semiconductor wafer in China.
At present, FTHW is making every effort to seize the opportunity, give full play to Ferrotec's accumulated years of advanced management experience, further increase investment in research and development of semiconductor integrated circuit materials, firmly grasp the core technology of semiconductor wafer production and manufacturing, and accelerate the national production progress of semiconductor materials. On November 22, we plan to hold a large-scale semiconductor wafer production ceremony in FTHW, Qiantang New District, Hangzhou. At that time, well-known entrepreneurs in the semiconductor industry at home and abroad, experts and scholars in the semiconductor industry at home and abroad, and leaders of relevant national and provincial departments will be invited to participate in our completion production ceremony.
